camping adventures

good morning world.

camping can be rough.

our first morning in west yellowstone we decided to hit up a laundromat that offered showers as well. how lucky! this place was run by one of the coolest gentleman hippies that let his dog, rosco run free through the facility. laundry was $2 per load and showers were $.30 per half a minute--you read that right. we did it anyway. i can't say it was the best money we spent this whole trip but, it was most definitely an experience we'll never forget--and fun.

this is hailey. she sells lucky rocks. we bought a couple.

cash loves his lucky rock :)

our campsite in west yellowstone was next to this beautiful river. we all headed down there to do some fishing. it isn't exactly deep for an adult but is potentially lethal for a child. while I was taking pictures of the kids cash fell in a drop off we couldn't see and the current started sweeping him away. i jumped in and grabbed him up. one of the scariest moments in my life. we are very lucky.

we took a road we thought would connect us to highway 89 and ended up at a dead end but, got to see cave falls.

oops. wrong turns can lead you to the right places ;)

after our little jaunt to cave falls it put us way behind on time. we got back on track, made our way back through jackson hole and as it was getting later and later i finally asked Harley if we could just get a hotel room for our last night. we ended up at the bull moose saloon....this isn't exactly a 'family establishment' but, we made due ;) we were just grateful for running water, a private shower, a real bed and shelter with real walls. best nights sleep-ever.
