coming home

on our way home we stopped off at cottonwood lake in smoot, WY. i've never heard of this place but, harley was telling me he came here once as a kid and the only thing he really remembered about it was how clear the lake was. he wasn't kidding. this lake is absolutely beautiful and crystal clear. we'll definitely be coming back to this particular place in the future for camping.

i have a thing for old homes. these two are just off the side of the road in bear lake. they kind of remind me of something out of an old horror film. fascinating and creepy.

it was good to get home and be reunited with our sweet dogs and go through all the pictures. i took over a thousand...and it was totally worth it.
we're trying to get back into the swing of things being home but, none of us really wants to just yet. avery starts school soon and today we'll be finding out who her first grade teacher is....
i'm so glad we took this trip. it tested us in a lot of ways and i'm grateful for the experience. it was awesome packing up our truck and our little family and heading out to the open road not really sure where we would land. i'll admit it made me a little nervous doing this with the kids but, they were better sports about it than i initially gave them credit for...
it is great to be home but, i learned on this trip that home really is wherever we are--together.
