SHOULDER SURGERY

My mom recently had shoulder surgery on her rotator cuff. She asked me to take her to surgery that morning being that my step dad had to go into work. The surgeon was really nice and let me photograph him giving her the shoulder block. Being in the surgical center made me miss scrubbing surgeries....a little. Being a surgical tech allowed me to see things most people will never see in their lifetime. I once assisted a surgery where I was able to retract a lung and see a beating heart in an eleven year olds chest. I've assisted brain, back, face, throat etc. surgeries. It was a great experience but, not a profession I'd want to do forever. Although I loved it, it wasn't for me.

My moms surgery went great and she is recovering extremely well. She's one tough lady.
