bits & pieces

the aspens in my front yard are starting to sprout buds. i have a love/hate relationship with these trees. they're pretty but, they spread everywhere.

i can't for the life of me remember this ground covers name and it's one of my favorites. it's hardy and reminds me of tiny roses.

we had a massive thunderstorm two nights ago. it woke harley and i up in the middle of the night with howling winds, lightening that lit up our bedroom even with the blinds closed and thunder so loud it echoed in our bones. it was nothing short of awesome. i love those kind of storms.

yesterday we woke up to a dusting of snow that melted by noon.

i've started reading the host-again. i wasn't a huge twilight fan so i was hesitant to read anything else by stephenie meyer but, my friend convinced me this was well written and entertaining. i picked it up from the d.i. so i can't complain about the price i paid for it which was next to nothing. i must say, i'm almost half way through and am enjoying it. i'm excited for the movie.

we haven't got any major plans for the weekend other than keeping warm from the cooler temperatures mother nature has brought us. have a great weekend and stay warm :)
