cash watching shark vids on youtube while avery is away at school. the expression on his face says it all. this is fascinating shiz. he loves hammerheads, especially. we've seen this particular vid more times than i can count.

woke up this morning to something out of place in the refrigerator. i know avery got a hold of the straws yesterday when helping herself to a glass of milk but, i don't remember seeing this box in the fridge before going to bed. i don't know. stranger things have happened around here ;)

yesterday i decided it was time to really put the christmas decorations away that have been sitting in rubbermade tubs in my living room for over a month now....this turned into making space for the tubs in the basement. it's insane how much stuff a family accumulates in the short years of living in a house. i'm far from a packrat but, hate to throw things away. we recycle but, yesterday i was literally chucking things in the trash right and left. harley went through all the kids toys-that we'd forgot even existed-and donated them to our friend stacy for the nursery kids. this project turned into pretty much an all day event. it felt good to lighten our load of things in the house but, it's far from done. there's still so much that could really go. i'm realizing that the saying: 'all you need is less' rings true for me. this year i'm making space for things that matter....especially mentally. getting rid of the stuff in my head and home i don't need does my soul wonders ;)
